Breeding Snakes

November 28, 2008

These are wild creatures that are only fit to live in the forests and wild sanctuaries. These are usually not meant to be petted in home, for domestic reasons. However, still there are many reasons for breeding them; some breeders usually breed the non venomous ones like the Boa Constrictor and the python so that we can tame them, since they are not venomous at all.
There are also positive reports that some families have given many testimonials that they prove to be great pets.

The reason why these non venomous creatures are petted is because they are the ones who would not only drive out unwanted rodents and mice but also eat them. This on the contrary would stand along with  their diet, thereby reducing your own expenditure over their food. Another great reason that some of them tame and pet them in their fields is because they also keep away birds and other insects that could damage your crops.

And most importantly they help in keeping away those unwanted guests and visitors that irritate our brain cells with their stupid talks and questions.

But I feel that the greatest reason for the breeders for breeding snakes is because they are used in many films and television soaps. This is because even the actors and the actresses feel secured in handling and confronting them, since they are less aggressive and don’t often bite, unless threatened or provoked.

But usually these snakes are tamed and treated in such a way that they can be handled by anyone and everyone. They are also fed upto the brim before they are made to act or work, so feeding them would obviously make them mild and would not go for bits, since they are full.

But what about the venomous ones? Why would anyone breed such harmful creatures, thereby putting their life in jeopardy too? Well the answer is more that what you thought.  They are not breaded for increasing their population, but extracting the venom that they produce. This would come in handy to produce the anti venom.

The anti venom itself is made from the toxin of the snake. This is made by studying the properties of the venom that the snake produces. And after studying the properties of the venom the scientists would prepare the anti venom.

This  I feel is the biggest reason why both the venomous and the non venomous snakes are breaded and multiplied.
